๐งช The most common reason a Roadworthy test is required
The most common reason a Roadworthy test is required when a renewal application is submitted is that the relevant persons responsible, or the appropriate parties, have failed to renew the vehicle's license after it has been registered under the new owner's name.
This is often due to the new owner assuming that the license is still valid or a dealership neglecting to renew the license and providing the previous owner's license to the new owner.
Regardless of whether the license in your possession has an expiration date that has not yet passed or is currently due, it is considered liable for licensing as of the date of ownership transfer, as the license in your possession at this time belongs to the previous owner.
Please note, penalty fees are imposed on the eNatis system from the day the vehicle was registered to the new owner. The amount varies based on the type of vehicle and the date of the transaction. These fees will accumulate monthly and will only be valid for the current month in which we are notifying you.
Additionally, you will be required to have your vehicle pass a roadworthy test in order to obtain your license disc after paying any outstanding fees. If your roadworthy test was conducted more than 60 days ago, it will no longer be valid and will need to be redone. It is important to note that a roadworthy test must be done before a vehicle changes ownership and is only valid for 60 days.
